COMMONWEALTH GAMES AND YOUTH AFRICA GAMES QUALIFIERS

The sprint distance qualifier will see the selection of the National team that will represent the Country at the Commonwealth and Youth Africa Games slated for July and August 2022 in the Birmingham and Egypt respectively.

Two female and Two male athletes will be selected in each category to make a team that will start training for the games in April. A further two athletes (One Male and One Female) in each category will be selected as reserves.

The Criteria for selection will be as follows:
1. Athletes who finish FIRST at both events will get the automatic qualification slot for the games
2. The second qualification slot will go to the top ranked athlete in Kenya as per the World Triathlon Ranking at the time of the event.

Kenya Triathlon Federation invites athletes’ entries for the two events under the following operational age guidelines:
1. Youth Africa Games – this event is open to athletes who are 17 years and below
2. Commonwealth Games – this event is open to athletes who are 18 years and above

All participating athletes MUST be registered members of the Kenya Triathlon Federation to be eligible to participate. The athletes registration process is available in the Triathlon Kenya website under the membership menu.

March 13th 2022: Commonwealth Games Qualifiers – Elite Men and Women
March 13th 2022: Youth Africa Games Qualifiers – Men and Women (Starts 5 Minutes after Elites)
